Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Shiomiso
大江戸温泉物語Premium 汐美荘
Does Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Shiomiso allow tattoos? Yes, covered
Premium Shiomiso's open-air baths look straight out over the Senami shore, and the hotel says the sun sets into the sea, behind Awashima or behind Sado depending on the month.
A tattooed bather may use the large baths only when the hotel's own paid cover seals hide the tattoo completely. The group bath terms that the hot spring page links to set the limit at two seals, so a tattoo larger than that stays out of the shared baths. The fallback is one of the two private baths, Maru and Kaku: ¥3,000 for an hour, staying guests only, booked at the hotel on the day.

The bath
Senami Onsen comes out of the ground at over 90°C, and the hotel calls it netsu-no-yu, the bath that keeps you warm. The operator lists it as a sodium chloride spring, alkaline and hot at the source, for cuts, poor circulation, cold sensitivity, low mood and dry skin. It says the water has added water and is recirculated through a filter. The hotel says the salt clings to the skin like a pack and holds the warmth in.
There are three open-air baths facing the sea. Yunagi swaps between men and women and is the one for sunsets, which the hotel says are best from spring to autumn. The women's Yubae has a dry sauna and a cold plunge beside it; the men's Nihonkai, also called Asanagi, looks out on blue water on a clear day. A round, bun-shaped rock found when the shore was drilled sits in the open-air bath. The indoor baths, Yubae and Nihonkai, have big windows on the sea. The large baths open 3 p.m. to midnight and 5 to 10 a.m.; the saunas 3 p.m. to midnight and 7 to 10 a.m.
Two private baths sit indoors: Maru, with a round tub, and Kaku, a square stone tub with a window on the view. Each is ¥3,000 for an hour, for staying guests only, from 3 p.m. to midnight. They cannot be booked ahead; ask at the hotel on the day, until 9:30 p.m.
