Does Seiryuso allow tattoos? In a private bath

Private bath only

Three separate sources pour 506 liters a minute through this place, enough that the indoor bath is said to replace its whole volume every hour.

Nothing on seiryuso.co.jp mentions tattoos, and a crawl of the site turned up no rule at all. What the inn does publish is a reservable open-air bath, Getsuseki-no-yu, at 1,650 yen for fifty minutes and free after 23:00, plus guest rooms with their own spring-fed open-air or indoor tub. Book one of those rooms or the reservable bath and the shared baths never come into it. The large open-air and indoor baths swap between men and women at midnight, so do not assume a quiet hour will solve the problem for you.

Where it is

Tokyo STN Odoriko, JR’s limited express 2 h 39 Atami STN Hotel location
Izukyu-Shimoda STN
Everything here is reached from Tokyo. The Odoriko limited express runs down the coast to Ito in 1 h 43 and on over the Izukyu line to Shimoda in 2 h 39, with no change. Shuzenji is the Shinkansen to Mishima and then the small Izuhakone Railway, about 1 h 40 in all.. Seiryuso · map data © OpenStreetMap contributors · open in Google Maps

Izukyu Discovery Pass One or two days on the Izukyu line between Ito and Izukyu-Shimoda. It does not cover the Odoriko’s limited express charge or the JR part of the ride from Tokyo, so it suits a stay that also stops at Ito or Izu-Kogen. Sold on Klook.

What happens when you arrive

Skip the shared baths and reserve the private one the way this page describes. Once the door is closed, the bath is yours.

How we know

Confirmed from official site — bath structure, not a tattoo policy (the 温泉 page for Getsuseki-no-yu and the 客室 page for the rooms with their own bath); no tattoo rule appears anywhere on seiryuso.co.jp

Best for: A traveler who wants a private tub booked by the fifty minutes and a 25-meter hot spring pool in the same stay

Three of the inn’s own sources feed the baths at 506 liters a minute, free-flowing, at 56.7°C, 43.3°C and 30°C, pH 8.2. Getsuseki-no-yu is a reservable open-air bath with an indoor tub beside it, 1,650 yen for 50 minutes, available 24 hours and free from 23:00. The 110-square-meter special room has its own source-fed indoor bath. Shared baths are closed for cleaning 11:00–14:00 and switch sides 23:30–00:00.
