Does Seiryukaku allow tattoos? In a private bath

Private bath only

Seiryukaku doesn’t publish a tattoo policy, so rent its private bath, a rock tub the inn says holds ten. Several renovated rooms also have an open-air bath on the inn’s own spring.

The inn publishes no tattoo rule for its two large baths, Kochomon and Tsurukame no Yu.

The bath

The private bath is a big rock tub, ¥3,861 for 50 minutes, with children’s bath chairs on hand.

The rooms with an open-air bath run on the inn’s own spring. Three types, two of them added in 2024, also have karaoke and a table-tennis table in the room and sleep up to eight; one has loft bunk beds. Otogi-tei, built of Kiso cypress, has a cypress-and-stoneware open-air bath by a courtyard waterfall and its own karaoke room. Another type has beds, a massage chair and a small waterproof TV by the tub.

The inn draws on three springs in its grounds. The shared baths are Kochomon, a giant-rock bath modeled on a sea arch on the Echizen coast, and Tsurukame no Yu, beside a waterfall. They swap between men and women at midnight. These are shared baths with no published tattoo rule. Towels are in your room.

The hotel

Thirty-eight Japanese rooms, all non-smoking. Dinner is served in your room. Check-in is 3 p.m., checkout 10 a.m. Wi-Fi and parking are free. Bathing tax is ¥150 per adult.
