The bath

This is a hotel for people traveling with their dogs, and nobody else. Dogs come to the room, the restaurant and the private bath, but not into the large baths. The water in those is Awazu Onsen, which the hotel calls the oldest spring in Hokuriku. It is a sodium sulfate-chloride spring, weakly alkaline and hot at the source, heated and run through a recirculating filter. The hotel says it warms you to the core and leaves the skin moist. The women's side is Orizuru-no-yu, the men's Kujaku-no-yu, each with an indoor bath looking onto the courtyard through big windows and an open-air rock bath outside. Both open 3 p.m. to midnight and 2 a.m. to 10 a.m.; the sauna and cold bath run 3 p.m. to midnight and 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, face wash, lotion and razors are set out, with baby beds in both changing rooms.

The private bath is the one you share with your dog: a round glazed tub for you and a small blue tub for the dog, in a cedar-walled room open to the sky. It costs ¥3,278 for 45 minutes, for two people plus the dog, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. It cannot be booked ahead; you reserve on the day, until 8 p.m., and each session is followed by 30 minutes of cleaning. The hotel states that this bath is not hot spring water. It is closed for works from October 16 to 31, 2026.

The hotel

A dog-owners' hotel in the Ooedo Onsen Monogatari group, where the dog is meant to stay with you from check-in at 3 p.m. to checkout at 11 a.m. Every room is tatami, which the hotel says is kinder to paws than flooring, with a dog play space. There is an indoor dog run and a lounge with free drinks for owners (alcohol in the afternoon only) and a snack buffet for dogs. A self-grooming corner rents dog shampoo, and a paw-washing station stands by the entrance. Dinner and breakfast are buffets with seasonal and Ishikawa dishes, and dogs eat in the restaurant too, from a separate menu of Noto-beef hamburgers and the like. Free parking for about 60 cars.
