Four rooms, and neither of the inn's two baths is ever shared: lock the door from inside and it is a private bath for as long as you want it.

Both of the inn's baths are private. The 1st-floor indoor bath and the 2nd-floor snow-viewing bath are each used as a locked private room; the inn's own site says outright there is no gender-separated bath, and when a bath is free you lock the door from inside and it is yours.

Where it is

Tokyo is the door to all of these. Akiu is the Hayabusa or Yamabiko to Sendai, about 1 h 30, then one bus of 43 minutes from the station. Takayu is the Shinkansen to Fukushima and a bus of 30 minutes up the mountain. Naruko is the Yamabiko to Furukawa and three quarters of an hour up the Rikuu East line. Zao is the Tsubasa, the Yamagata Shinkansen, straight through to Yamagata with no change, then a bus of 37 minutes up to the ski village. Ginzan is the same train as far as Oishida and the town’s own Hanagasa bus. Nyuto is the Komachi, JR’s Shinkansen across to Akita, as far as Tazawako, then a bus of 47 minutes. Hanamaki is the Yamabiko to Kitakami, one stop back on the local line and a bus. Higashiyama is the long one: the Shinkansen to Koriyama, the Ban-etsu West line over to Aizu-Wakamatsu and the loop bus, three hours and more with the waits.
