Does Ashizuri Sunny Side Hotel allow tattoos? In a private bath

Private bath only

An annex of two-storey rooms strung along the cliff, each with its own hot spring tub on the deck and nothing between it and the open Pacific.

No tattoo rule is published for the shared bath downstairs, so treat that bath as unanswered. The annex called 岬の風 settles it instead: every room there is a two-storey maisonette with its own hot spring open-air tub on the deck, and the hotel says so on both its facility page and its FAQ. The annex tub is onsen water, not plain heated water, which is rarer than it sounds on this coast.

What happens when you arrive

Skip the shared baths and reserve the private one the way this page describes. Once the door is closed, the bath is yours.

How we know

Confirmed from official site — bath structure, not a tattoo policy (the FAQ answer on baths and the 施設案内 page)

Read on: ashizuri-sunny.jp/faq

Best for: A private hot spring tub on a deck with the Kuroshio current running past below it

The 施設案内 page calls the annex rooms 温泉露天風呂付きメゾネット和洋室: a 7.5-tatami Japanese room with a loft holding two beds, reached by an internal stair, so the annex is not step-free. One annex room type takes dogs. The main building has ordinary tubs in the rooms plus a basement men’s and women’s bath with an attached open-air tub, on a simple weak radioactive spring; the hotel states plainly that the main bath cannot be reserved (貸切不可). Bathing 06:00 to 08:00 and 16:30 to 23:00, bathing tax 150 yen.
