Does Misasa Royal Hotel allow tattoos? In a private bath

Private bath only

Misasa Royal stands alone in the fields at Ose, and its one family bath is booked by the slot, twelve of them a day, rather than fought over at the door.

The hotel publishes no tattoo rule, so the garden bath and the big open-air bath beside it are an unanswered question. Its family bath is reservable and is the way around that: sugi and hinoki tubs fed by natural spring water, behind a large window onto the inner garden, taken in fifty-minute slots. Twelve slots run from 15:00 through 23:50 and again from 6:00 to 8:50, at ¥3,300 a turn.

What happens when you arrive

Skip the shared baths and reserve the private one the way this page describes. Once the door is closed, the bath is yours.

How we know

Confirmed from official site — bath structure, not a tattoo policy (the hotel’s onsen page, 貸切家族風呂)

Best for: Families who want a fixed reservation slot rather than a first-come queue

This one sits out of town along the Misasa river at Ose, not on the spa street, so plan on the hotel shuttle or a car. The shared baths run 15:00 to 1:00 and 4:00 to 9:00, with the men’s and women’s sides swapped in the morning. A mist house is attached to the open-air bath, which the hotel says lets you take the spring in through breath as well as skin.
