Utoro Higashi, on the bluff above the harbor Hotel ★★★☆☆

Rembrandt Resort Shiretoko

レンブラントリゾート知床

Does Rembrandt Resort Shiretoko allow tattoos? Yes, covered

Cover seal required

Seven floors up over Utoro harbor, the open-air bath here sits where the sea and the sky run together, and the house rules posted beside it name a tattoo sticker as the thing that gets you in.

This is the one operator in Utoro that writes a way in. Its bath page carries a list headed with who may not bathe, and the tattoo line on that list is conditional: it bars people with tattoos who have not covered them with a tattoo sticker. Cover the work and you may use the seventh-floor baths. The hotel does not say what size of sticker it will accept and does not say it supplies them, so bring your own and bring enough. The rule reaches the day visitor too, because the same baths sell to non-guests in the evening.
