Does Wafu no Yado Masuya allow tattoos? In a private bath
Masuya draws its water from four sources, one of them the natural spring at Jigokudani the inn calls its roots, and sells a family-size private bath by the hour.
Masuya publishes no tattoo rule. It has a private bath large enough for a family, booked in 50-minute turns for 2,500 yen, and four Yushinan rooms with their own open-air bath on free-flowing water. Either one keeps you out of the shared baths.

Private bath: 15:00–23:00, 50 minutes a turn starting on the hour, 2,500 yen, reservation required; there are also plans that include it. Rooms: sixteen Japanese rooms and four Yushinan rooms with a free-flowing open-air bath. The shared baths, Ruri-no-yu in the main building and Yumedono in the east wing (reached by an underground passage), swap between men and women at 21:00. Water from four sources including Jigokudani, cooled with underground water from 95°C.
