Umine Annex
別館うみね
Does Umine Annex allow tattoos? In a private bath
Twenty-three separate cabins on a Kannawa hillside, each with its own open-air spring bath, indoor bath, low-temperature sauna and cold plunge, and no large bath anywhere on the grounds.
There is no communal bath on the property at all. Each of the 23 villas is a standalone building with an open-air hot spring bath, an indoor bath, a low-temperature sauna and a cold plunge, all behind your own gate. The operator lists 温泉 in the equipment line of every villa type, so the water is the spring rather than a heated tub. The only shared water is a seasonal view pool that runs June through September and costs extra.

The bath
Each villa is a building with a gate, and behind the gate are an open-air bath, an indoor bath, a low-temperature sauna and a cold plunge, with a wood deck and a garden to sit in between rounds. The operator lists onsen in the equipment line of every grade, so the water is the spring rather than a heated tub, and the sauna round can be repeated as often as you want without booking a slot or watching for a free lamp.
The only shared water on the property is the view pool, which runs 1 June to 30 September, 15:00 to 21:00 with last reception at 20:00, at 1,100 yen for adults and 550 for children, and the front desk asks for a signed waiver. Three of the suite villas have a summer pool of their own instead.
Villas run from a 42-square-meter standard with two beds to suites over 100 square meters, and the operator notes that every one of them has a few steps at the entrance.
The hotel
Opened in September 2025 and marked its first anniversary a year later. Drinks in the front-building lounge, alcohol included, are free for the length of the stay. Each villa has a kitchen with a microwave rather than a stove, so meals are the dining room’s business, and the site has taken on food-waste and amenity-bar measures it publishes as its own policy.
What is good about it
- Twenty-three detached villas, each with a sauna, a cold plunge and two baths behind its own gate.
- The only water anyone shares is the summer pool, June to September, 1,100 yen, with a waiver signed at the desk.
- Steps at every villa entrance, which the operator states for all grades, top to bottom.

What happens when you arrive
Skip the shared baths and reserve the private one the way this page describes. Once the door is closed, the bath is yours.
How we know
Confirmed from official site, bath structure rather than a tattoo policy (the villa list and equipment lines on the operator’s home page)
