Tenku Kaiyu no Yado Suehiro
天空海遊の宿 末広
Does Tenku Kaiyu no Yado Suehiro allow tattoos? In a private bath
Suehiro stands on the heights of the Nishiura peninsula with every room turned to the sea. Its two private open-air baths, Sora and Umi, go for 45 minutes at a time, and the inn is open from Friday to Monday.
The inn publishes no tattoo rule for its shared baths. It has two private open-air baths, Sora and Umi, reserved for 45 minutes at 2,500 yen a room, and guest rooms with an open-air bath of their own. Day visitors can book a private bath too, on top of the day-use fee.
The bath
The two private open-air baths are named Sora and Umi, sky and sea. The inn describes them as indoor-style open-air baths on the high side of the building, looking over Nishiura. Each is booked for 45 minutes at ¥2,500 a room. Staying guests can use them from 3 to 11:15 p.m. and from 7 to 9 a.m.; reserve by phone up to the day before, or at the front desk on the day. Day visitors may book one between 11:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. on top of the ¥1,500 day-use fee. The water in them is heated, not the spring.
Guest rooms with an open-air bath are in the Senei and Kosenkaku annexes, in several layouts, and there are rooms with a foot bath on the 3rd and 4th floors. The inn says all of these are heated water too.
The spring, Bihakusen from its first source, a weakly radioactive cold mineral spring, runs only to the open-air tubs inside the two large baths on the 1st floor: Kankai-no-yu for men and Namine-no-yu for women, open 5:30 to 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to midnight. The rooftop bath, Amane-no-yu, reopened in March 2024. It is built for the view, has no washing area, and shares the roof with a foot bath used clothed by men and women together.
The hotel
The inn is three buildings: the annex Senei, the main building Shusenkaku and the annex Kosenkaku. It says every room looks onto the sea. Rooms come in four kinds: rooms with an open-air bath, rooms with a foot bath, standard rooms, and concept rooms that include a universal design room. A bedrock bath beside the large baths has a women's room of nine beds and a private room, ¥1,500 for 60 minutes. Dinner starts between 6 and 7:30 p.m. The inn is closed from Tuesday to Thursday outside the main holiday weeks.
