Does Hakuba Mominoki Hotel allow tattoos? In a private bath

Private bath only

One of the few private baths in Hakuba that a day visitor can book: a Happo onsen tub behind a locked door, 45 minutes for up to four people, reserved by phone the day before.

The hotel publishes no tattoo rule for its shared bath, Shobei-no-Yu, in Japanese or English. The answer is its private hot spring bath on Happo onsen water: 45-minute slots at 3,500 yen for up to four people, booked at the front desk. Unusually for Hakuba, people who are not staying can book it too, the day before or on the day, by phone.

What happens when you arrive

Skip the shared baths and reserve the private one the way this page describes. Once the door is closed, the bath is yours.

How we know

Confirmed from official site — bath structure, not a tattoo policy (hot spring pages in Japanese and English and the FAQ read; none mentions tattoos)
