Does Izuito Onsen Daitokan allow tattoos? In a private bath
A lamp board in the lobby shows which of the three private baths is empty, and the answer at four in the morning is usually all of them.
The inn publishes no tattoo rule, and it does not need one to be usable: three of its six baths are private, they cost nothing extra, and they are not reserved. You watch the lamp board in the lobby, walk to whichever is dark, and lock the door behind you. The house asks about 40 minutes a turn and lets you come back as often as you like.

Tokyo to Atami Shinkansen tickets The fast way to Izu is the Shinkansen to Atami, about 40 minutes from Tokyo, then the JR Ito line local, about 25 minutes to Ito. The Odoriko limited express does the whole ride with no change. Sold on Klook.

Six baths: two large baths, a big open-air bath and three private ones, a goemon iron tub, an open-air tub and a lying-down tub. All open 14:00 to 11:00 the next day. Three sources yielding 297 liters a minute; the inn states that every bath, guest room baths included, runs with no added water, no recirculation and no filter. The large open-air bath is women’s 14:00–22:00 and men’s 22:00–11:00. Weakly alkaline simple spring. Dinner and room service were dropped: the rate is bed and a simple free breakfast.
