Does Miyahama Grand Hotel allow tattoos? In a private bath
The bath to book here is Madoka, a one-off Shigaraki-ware tub in a room of its own, 45 minutes at a time, with hinoki in the air.
Two baths here are booked by the party rather than shared. Madoka has a custom Shigaraki-ware tub and goes for 2,000 yen before tax for 45 minutes; Momiji is a half-open-air one. Neither needs a tattoo answer. The hotel publishes no tattoo rule for its rooftop and ground-floor baths, which take day visitors as well as guests, so do not read the gap as a yes.

Visit Hiroshima Tourist Pass One, two or three days on Hiroshima’s streetcars, including the line out to Miyajimaguchi, and the ferry across to the island. Slower than the JR train, and it covers the boat. Sold on Klook.

The rooftop open-air bath is called Marumie Roten and the rock-built one below it Nozokimi Roten; men and women swap between them daily. Day bathing runs about 13:00 to 16:00 on the days the hotel opens it, with a published calendar, and there is a 3,980 yen morning plan that includes breakfast, the bath and a towel, sold only through the hotel’s own site with payment in advance.
