Fifty-four rooms at Kawaji, the old cure-taking village further up the valley than Kinugawa, where the baths sit low beside the river and the loudest thing is the water going past.
Nothing to cover. Hoshino Resorts states group-wide that it does not restrict guests with tattoos, out of respect for other people’s cultures — and then, in the same sentence, reserves the right to refuse the bath where it judges other guests might be frightened. That second half is unusual to publish and worth knowing before you travel: the rule is discretionary, not a size limit.
