Thirty-three rooms on the shore of Lake Chuzenji, twelve hundred meters up and forty minutes of hairpins above the shrines, with a cypress-lined indoor bath and a rough stone one outdoors. The lake is what you look at from both.
Nothing to cover. Hoshino Resorts states group-wide that it does not restrict guests with tattoos, out of respect for other people’s cultures — and then, in the same sentence, reserves the right to refuse the bath where it judges other guests might be frightened. That second half is unusual to publish and worth knowing before you travel: the rule is discretionary, not a size limit.
