JR Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass Five days for 19,800 yen on JR trains between Nagoya, Takayama and Toyama, with six reserved seats, which covers the Hida from Nagoya to Takayama. The Nohi Bus from Takayama up to Hirayu and Shinhotaka is not part of the pass and is paid separately. Sold on Klook.

Private baths usable 6:00–9:00 and 15:00–23:00, closed overnight for safety. Two springs feed the house: an iron-bearing indoor bath and a sulfur-and-salt source, Takara no Yu No. 2, at 95.2°C. Ten Japanese-style rooms, an elevator, and a choice of hearth-side or private dining. Around 17,000 yen per person with two meals. No day-use bathing.
