Does Feel Unazuki allow tattoos? In a private bath
Feel Unazuki publishes no tattoo policy, so book its one private bath, which costs extra. The rooms have no bath of their own.
No tattoo rule is published for the two large baths or the semi-open-air bath beside them.
The bath
The private bath is a hot-spring bath for couples, families or groups of friends. Body soap, shampoo, conditioner, face wash and toner are provided, as in the large baths.
The Unazuki spring comes out of the ground at 98.3°C (209°F). It’s clear, mild and skin-softening, and the baths are fully free-flowing. The men’s and women’s large baths look down on the trolley trains, and they swap sides at midnight. A semi-open-air bath is next to them. These are shared baths with no published tattoo rule. Bathing tax is ¥150 for guests 12 and older.
The hotel
The hotel faces the tracks, and the 10-mat Japanese rooms all look out on the trains. Rooms range from compact twins of 15 square meters to special Western rooms from 49 square meters with a shower, plus Japanese rooms of 7.5 to 10 tatami mats and Japanese-Western rooms for up to six. Guests lay out their own futons, and the amenities are at the front desk for you to take what you need. Check-in is 3 p.m. to midnight, and checkout is 10 a.m. Breakfast is a buffet of about 30 Japanese and Western dishes, 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. There’s no restaurant for dinner, so eat in town. The whole hotel is non-smoking.
Good to know
- Open Saturdays only from January to March. The phone is answered only on Saturdays then too.
- Stairs to the entrance. The front desk is on the second floor, up a flight of stairs from the parking lot, and there are no accessible rooms.
- Doors lock at midnight and open again at 6 a.m. No pets, and no pickup.
