Shiretoko Daiichi Hotel

知床第一ホテル

Does Shiretoko Daiichi Hotel allow tattoos? In a private bath

Private bath only

Nine kinds of tub share the two bathhouses here, from an electric bath to a pounding bath, and the hotel refuses every one of them to tattooed guests. The way in is a 90-square-meter corner room on the fifth floor with a view bath of its own.

This hotel refuses harder than anyone else in the town: its bath page says bathing by people with tattoos is firmly refused, and its family bath, which would have been the obvious workaround, is currently closed. One room type answers anyway. The corner deluxe on floors five and six of the east wing is 90 square meters with its own view bath, which the hotel calls a private open-air bath for the room. The hotel does not say whether that tub runs spring water, so ask when you book if it matters.
