Tabist Chikuba Shinyotei
Tabist 竹葉新葉亭
Does Tabist Chikuba Shinyotei allow tattoos? In a private bath
Fukuju is the one room at Chikuba with an outdoor tub of its own, set where the garden changes with the season.
One room here has its own open-air bath: the guest suite Fukuju, which looks onto the garden. The other 30 rooms in the east and south wings have an ordinary bath and shower and no outdoor tub, and the ryokan publishes nothing about tattoos, so Fukuju is the only booking that settles the question.

Best for: A single garden suite with its own outdoor tub, in a kaiseki house that has been cooking since 1949
The two shared baths, Manyo-no-yu in stone and Chikurin-no-yu in cypress, each have a garden open-air tub and swap between men and women daily. The ryokan also sells a day-use package of a meal plus the bath. The operator does not state whether the Fukuju tub carries spring water. Rooms: Fukuju plus 18 in the east wing and 12 in the south.
