Does Ark Hotel Hiroshima Ekiminami allow tattoos? Yes, covered
Tattoos are allowed in the bath only if a cover-up seal hides them completely. The rule sets no maximum size, only full coverage.

The bath
The large bath is on the 10th floor of the annex, with a view over the city at night and at sunrise. Both sides are open 5 p.m. to midnight and 5 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
The men’s side has a round jacuzzi tub, a sauna and a cold plunge; the sauna runs in the evening only. The women’s bath has a locked door, and the front desk gives you the code. Children still in diapers can’t use the baths.
There are lockers for valuables at the entrance, and a relaxation room with massage chairs next to the baths.
The hotel
214 rooms on the 3rd to 9th floors: singles, semi-doubles and twins, each with its own bathroom, an air purifier with humidifier, Wi-Fi and wired internet, and jinbei (cotton lounge wear). Check-in is 3 p.m., checkout 10 a.m.; late checkout until 3 p.m. costs extra. The breakfast buffet runs 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and includes Hiroshima dishes such as conger eel on rice. Parking is first come, first served, 30 spaces in an indoor mechanical garage and 20 outdoors, ¥800 plus tax a night.
Good to know
- Change elevators on the 2nd floor. The bath is in the annex, so from a main-building room you switch to the annex elevator on the 2nd floor.
- Coin laundry. Two washers and two dryers for all guests, plus a separate laundry in the women’s changing room.

About 5 minutes on foot from the south exit.
From the south exit of Hiroshima Station, follow the streetcar tracks south for about 4 minutes, then turn east at the end of the road; the hotel is 1 minute on. From Matobacho streetcar stop, walk east for about 3 minutes.
