Does Itoyanagi Koyado Yuwa allow tattoos? In a private bath

Private bath only

Yuwa is Itoyanagi’s small inn, and one of its three free private baths is a room that used to be the inn’s large bath.

Yuwa’s day-bathing notice turns away tattooed bathers from its large baths. Staying guests have three private baths free for 45 minutes each, one of them a room that used to be a large bath, and a few special rooms have an open-air bath of their own.

JR Tokyo Wide Pass Covers the Kaiji from Shinjuku to Isawa-Onsen; the pass area runs as far as Kofu. Worth it if Kawaguchiko, Karuizawa or Echigo-Yuzawa is also on the trip. Sold on Klook.

What happens when you arrive

Skip the shared baths and reserve the private one the way this page describes. Once the door is closed, the bath is yours.

How we know

Confirmed from official site (the refusal from the inn’s day-bathing news post; the private baths from its 貸切風呂 page)

Best for: Three free private baths to rotate through during one stay

The private baths are for staying guests only; day visitors cannot book them. Special rooms with an open-air bath are on a floor without an elevator. The shared baths, Ao-no-yu and Mizuki-no-yu, each have an open-air bath and use alkaline spring water run through activated stone. Free colored yukata. Agoda’s URL and OpenStreetMap still use the name Kutsurogi no Tei Kunitachi, which also appears on the inn’s own day-bathing notice.
