Nothing heats the water at Fuefukigawa: the head of the family sets the spring’s temperature by hand across 38 valves, a job three generations have kept to themselves, and it runs into five private baths.
Fuefukigawa has no published tattoo rule and five private baths: three open-air, in granite, cypress and ceramic, and two indoor ones added in April 2021. The bath page does not give a price or booking method, so ask when you reserve.

The spring on the grounds, Fuefuki-no-yu, was drilled in 1963 by the founder. The inn says it has no heating equipment at all and adjusts the water to bathing temperature by hand with 38 valves, a job passed down only to the head of the family for three generations. Private open-air baths: Hanamitate-no-yu (granite), Shikisai-no-yu (cypress), Toro-no-yu (ceramic, old farmhouse style). Private indoor baths: Mizumari-no-yu and Gessei-no-yu. The shared bath runs 24 hours. There is a guests-only lounge floor by the baths.
