Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Kinugawa Kanko Hotel

Does Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Kinugawa Kanko Hotel allow tattoos? Yes, covered
Two paid private baths sit beside eight shared tubs here, and one of them comes with a bedrock sauna room for two, which is rare in a Kinugawa hotel.
Tattoos are allowed in the large baths only if the hotel’s own paid cover seals hide them completely, and the group’s bath rules cap that at two seals. Anything bigger means the private baths: Kinu-no-yu with a half-open-air tub, or Nikko-no-yu with its own bedrock sauna room, 90 minutes for 4,400 yen, booked at the front desk on the day.

The bath
The water is an alkaline simple spring, which the hotel says it dilutes, heats and recirculates. Its posted uses are nerve complaints, sleeplessness and low mood. Two large bath halls sit two floors below the lobby and swap between men and women, so an overnight guest can try all eight tubs. Keicho-no-yu opens with a rock bath built against a wall of boulders and has two open-air tubs facing the river, Ryuo-no-yu and Isari-no-yu, with a view of the Fureai footbridge and the painted-demon staircase. Kirifuri-no-yu has water falling between rocks and a row of four tubs along the river windows: Iroha-no-yu, the wide Kegon-no-yu, Omiya-no-yu with cypress balls floating in it, and the six-sided one-person Nemurineko-no-yu. Each hall has a sauna and a cold bath. Baths open 15:00 to 24:00 and 5:00 to 10:00, saunas from 7:00 in the morning. Day bathers need no booking: 7:00 to 10:00 and 15:00 to 24:00, last entry 22:00, ¥2,200 on weekdays, ¥2,400 at weekends and ¥2,600 on peak days, towel rental ¥330.
The two private baths are for hotel guests, 90 minutes for ¥4,400, up to four people, booked at the front desk on the day until 23:00. Kinu-no-yu has a half-open-air tub and starts at 15:00, 17:00, 19:00 and 21:00. Nikko-no-yu adds a bedrock sauna room for two, a rest space and a balcony, and starts on the half hour from 15:30. A baby bath can be reserved for either.
The hotel
An Ooedo Onsen Monogatari group hotel on the group's Premium tier. The rooms take their themes from the Kinugawa landscape, with names like mountain range and mountain stream. Dinner and breakfast are the group's three-star buffet in a restaurant with a live kitchen: market-direct sashimi, sushi and wagyu at dinner, a seafood rice bowl at breakfast. The Premium Lounge, fitted out like a forest with a fireplace, serves free drinks, alcohol included, and ice pops after the bath. Check-in is 15:00 and check-out 11:00.
