Ryokan Yakenoyu
旅館 焼乃湯
Does Ryokan Yakenoyu allow tattoos? In a private bath
The house asks tattooed guests to skip the indoor baths and then hands them the three open-air ones it is proudest of.
Yakenoyu asks tattooed guests to stay out of the gendered indoor baths and then names its three private open-air baths as theirs to use, saying anyone may take them without hesitation. That is a rare thing to find written down in this valley: a refusal and a replacement in the same paragraph. The private baths have no shower, only a bucket and the hot inflow.

Best for: Three private open-air baths the house names as the answer for tattooed guests.
Shampoo is set in the private open-air baths but there is no shower; you rinse with the bucket from the hot inflow, and the house asks you to keep suds out of the pool. White flakes in the water are crystallized minerals, not dirt. The source runs hot, so watch your footing. Simple thermal spring. 38 beds, around 14,300 yen per person with two meals. No day-use bathing.
