The bath
The open-air bath sits partly under a white canopy with a frosted glass parapet and city lights beyond, a long blue-tiled rectangle in a walled courtyard with a stone bench; the indoor tub opens straight out to it through glass doors, the lower panes frosted on both sides. The hotel sells the clear sky and the sunsets. Men have a hot dry sauna, a cold tub and resting chairs; women a gentler mist sauna with no cold tub. Open 3 p.m. to 11 a.m., with cleaning breaks around 10 p.m. and 4 a.m., saunas off 2 to 6 a.m. Non-guests pay ¥1,600 in the evening or ¥1,200 in the morning, more on weekends, towels included, registering with photo ID the first time. Hotel guests bring their own towels.
