Tattoos are allowed if two of APA's cover seals, 10 cm × 12 cm (3.9 × 4.7 in) each, hide them completely. The bath, Genyo no Yu, has an open-air section.
Overnight guests get both seals free at the front desk each night. A tattoo two seals can't hide is refused.

The bath
Genyo no Yu, with an open-air bath, free to guests. APA's standard bath water is a "quasi-natural Komeiseki hot spring," which means an artificial spring made with a mineral ore, not water from the ground. Open 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
