Does APA Hotel Shinjuku Gyoenmae allow tattoos? Yes, covered
Tattoos are allowed if two of APA's cover seals, 10 cm × 12 cm (3.9 × 4.7 in) each, hide them completely. The bath is in the basement, a quiet room with an open-air space and pot baths.
Overnight guests get both seals free at the front desk each night. A tattoo two seals can't hide is refused.

The bath
Genyo no Yu is in the basement, and the hotel describes it as a quiet room under the noise of the city, with an open-air space and pot baths off it. APA's standard bath water is a "quasi-natural Komeiseki hot spring," which means an artificial spring made with a mineral ore, not water from the ground. Open 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to midnight, last entry half an hour before, free to all guests. Bring your towels from the room.
