Does Hana no Shizuku allow tattoos? In a private bath

A small hideaway inn on the river west of the tea shops, where each room is built around a different bath: one under a projector, one behind a Roman mouth of truth, one dug out like a cave.

The inn does not publish a tattoo rule. It does publish a room list in which every room is named for its bath: open-air baths with a sunken kotatsu and a projector, open-air baths with a loyly sauna attached, and cave-styled or gilded family baths. A rentable open-air bath is open 07:00 to 23:00 on top of that.

Where it is

Hakata to Ibusuki is about 3 h 25: the Kyushu Shinkansen to Kagoshima-Chuo, then the Ibusuki Makurazaki line down the coast, which the sightseeing train Ibusuki no Tamatebako also runs. Ureshino is about 1 h 20, a limited express to Takeo-Onsen and the Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen one stop further. Kurokawa has no railway at all: the coach from Hakata takes about 2 h 40 by way of Hita and Tsuetate. The blue dashes are the way here from Hakata Bus Terminal: the Kyushu-go coach, which stops in the middle of the bath district rather than at the station two kilometers out, 2 h 12 in all; 2,200 yen against 4,870 by train, and eleven minutes slower; one run of the day stops at the expressway interchange instead, a 26-minute walk out. The glass-walled shared baths are open 07:00–23:00 at 500 yen with towels extra, and the operator says both are fed straight from the source with a high-temperature sauna and a cold bath beside them. The rentable open-air bath keeps the same hours, with towels at 100 yen and bath towels at 200. Spring listed as ナトリウム―炭酸水素塩・塩化物泉（低張性弱アルカリ高温泉）. Note that the inn’s access line claiming a six-minute walk from Ureshino-Onsen STN does not survive a look at the map; it is well over 2 km.
