Does Yunogo Grand Hotel allow tattoos? In a private bath

Private bath only

Tattoos aren’t allowed in the large bath or the open-air bath, so book a room with its own bath. Ten rooms have an open-air or half-open-air bath with free-flowing spring water.

Itoen Hotels, which runs the hotel, tells tattooed guests in its FAQ to use the bath in their room or a private bath instead.

The bath

Ten rooms have a bath of their own, filled with the free-flowing spring. Three Japanese-Western rooms of 46 to 50 square meters have an open-air bath and a shower room with a multi-function shower panel. Five Japanese-Western rooms of 36 to 44 square meters have a half-open-air bath with a view. Two 10-mat Japanese rooms have an open-air bath in cypress or stone. Use the towels in your room.

The water is a salty spring with fine bubbles, known locally for softening the skin. The shared open-air bath is built around a monument of huge stacked boulders, and there’s a large indoor bath as well. Mixed bathing ends at age 6.

The hotel

What happens when you arrive

Use the bath in your room, and skip the large bath and the open-air bath. When you book, make sure your room type has its own open-air or half-open-air bath.

How we know

Confirmed from official site (the Itoen Hotels group FAQ, which governs this property) for the rule, and from the property’s own page for the rooms with an open-air bath. The hotel lists no private bath to reserve, so book a room with its own bath.

刺青・タトゥーなどを入れている方の、大浴場・露天風呂のご入浴は原則お断りしております。各部屋に備え付けのお風呂か、貸切風呂をご利用ください。

This is the rule for the shared baths. It doesn’t apply to the private baths.

Best for: couples who want an open-air bath in the room and an all-you-can-eat buffet with free soft drinks
