Tosen Goshobo
陶泉 御所坊
Does Tosen Goshobo allow tattoos? In a private bath
Goshobo’s private bath house, Yuya Matsukaze, is rented by the hour on free-flowing gold spring, and day visitors can book it online. The ryokan publishes no tattoo policy.
Yuya Matsukaze is a building of private baths only, three minutes on foot from the ryokan beside the Gosho source. Staying guests add it when they book, 60 minutes for ¥5,500. Day visitors book it on the ryokan’s own site, 60 minutes for ¥9,900. Goshobo’s pages say nothing about tattoos.

The bath
Matsukaze has two rooms, Rai and In, each with a tub of free-flowing gold spring, Arima’s iron-rich brown water, and a steam bath heated by the spring itself. A room takes up to four people and towels are lent free. Ninety minutes costs ¥7,700 for guests and ¥13,200 for day visitors, whose slots start at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Bath tax is extra.
Two suites on the fifth floor have a free-flowing gold-spring bath of their own. The ryokan’s shared bath is also gold spring and takes day visitors for ¥2,250, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., closed Mondays.
The hotel
A long-established Arima ryokan. The private bath it used to have inside the building closed in March 2024, and Matsukaze replaced it. Checkout is 11 a.m.
