Central Matsuyama, in front of the Okaido tram stop on the Okaido arcade Hotel ★★★☆☆

Does Candeo Hotels Matsuyama Okaido allow tattoos? Yes, covered

Cover seal required

A top-floor bath over the Okaido arcade, open from three in the afternoon until eleven the next morning, and the only bath in central Matsuyama whose own page tells tattooed guests exactly what to do.

Candeo puts its answer on the page for the bath itself: guests with tattoos are asked to use a tattoo cover seal in the Sky Spa. It is phrased as an instruction rather than a refusal, with no size limit given and no mention of the house supplying the seals, so bring your own. The Sky Spa is open from mid-afternoon straight through to late morning, which leaves plenty of quiet hours.

Best for: A covered tattoo, a rooftop open-air bath and a tram stop at the door

The Sky Spa is on the top floor with an open-air bath and sauna, open 15:00 to 11:00 the next morning, with the sauna off between 02:00 and 06:00. Reviewers note the water is heated rather than drawn from a spring, so treat this as a city bath, not an onsen. Okaido is two minutes on foot from the Okaido tram stop and about 30 minutes from Matsuyama Airport by limousine bus.
