Does Hotel Route Inn Matsuyama Chuo Katsuyama-dori allow tattoos? Yes, covered

Cover seal required

A tram-side business hotel whose bath runs on sulfur water piped down from the Okudogo sources, open until two in the morning and again at five.

Covered and you may bathe. The Route Inn group FAQ refuses tattooed bathers and then allows them back in on one condition, that a cover seal hides the tattoo completely. The Matsuyama property page carries no tattoo text of its own, so the group answer is the rule, and it states no size. Buy or bring seals before you arrive and ask the front desk whether this property stocks them.

入れ墨(タトゥー)のある方のご入浴はお断りしております。ただし、カバーシールを用いて入れ墨(タトゥー)が完全に覆えている場合に限り、大浴場をご利用いただけます。

The operator’s own wording, to show at the desk if you need to.

A chain rule, and the most generous seal of any hotel chain

Route Inn sets this once for the whole group — Route Inn, Grand, Ark and Grand Vrio alike — and states it plainly: tattooed guests may not bathe unless the tattoo is completely covered with a cover seal. The whole picture on Route Inn, and every Route Inn listing on this site →

How we know

Confirmed from official site (the Route Inn group FAQ; the property’s own 大浴場 page carries no tattoo text)

Best for: Real Okudogo water at business-hotel prices, one tram stop from the castle ropeway

The bath is called 旅人の湯 and the property page names its water as Okudogo sources 4-1 and 9, an alkaline simple sulfur spring, hypotonic and alkaline. Open 15:00 to 02:00 and 05:00 to 10:00. Free buffet breakfast, paid on-site parking. The guide already records the same group rule in other cities.
