Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Dogo

大江戸温泉物語 道後

Does Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Dogo allow tattoos? Yes, covered

Cover seal required

The Himezuka hill hotel that swapped operators and kept the buffet, and the only bath in Dogo whose published rule ends in a seal instead of a no.

This is the one bath in Dogo that answers the question with a seal. The group’s own bathing terms bar tattooed guests from the large bath, then carve out an exception: you may bathe if the tattoo is completely covered by two of the hotel’s own cover seals. The seals are the ones the house supplies, so the practical test is whether your work fits under two of them. Larger pieces are refused, and the terms are written for the whole Ooedo Onsen Monogatari chain rather than for this property alone.

入れ墨(タトゥー)をされた方 ※当館指定のシール2枚で完全に覆うことができる場合を除く

The operator’s own wording, to show at the desk if you need to.

Best for: A tattoo small enough to disappear under two cover seals, on a buffet-and-bath night out of the arcade

The former Yukai Resort Dogo Saichoraku, taken over by Ooedo Onsen Monogatari. Natural hot spring in the large bath, buffet dinner and breakfast with more than 120 dishes between them, and free table tennis, karaoke and a manga corner in the building. Ask at the desk for the seals rather than bringing your own, since the rule is written around the house’s size. The open-air bath is on the high side of the building and looks down on Matsuyama Castle and the city lights, with the sauna outdoors beside it.
