ホテル森の風 箱根仙石原

Does Hotel Morinokaze Hakone Sengokuhara allow tattoos? Yes, covered

Cover seal required

You can bathe if the tattoo is completely hidden under a cover seal. The size the property allows is the thing to check before you book — allowances differ enough between chains to decide the matter.

Cover seal required, no size named. The same dated notice as its sister hotel: refused in principle until 1 July 2024, accepted on trial since then if the design is completely hidden.

Show this at the front desk

入れ墨・タトゥーのある方のご入館・ご入浴を原則お断りとしますが、下記ルールを厳守していただける方は、2024年7月1日より、テスト的にご入浴を受け入れることにいたしました。

The operator’s own wording, copied from the page named under “How we know” below. Holding up your phone settles the question faster than explaining it.

What happens when you arrive

Cover the tattoo completely before you go in, with a seal that fits the size the property allows — that figure is in the policy line at the top of this page, and it is the property’s, not ours. Where the seals are sold at the front desk, buy them at check-in rather than at bath time; where they are not, bring your own. A seal that does not cover the whole tattoo counts as no seal, and staff are within their rules to turn you away at the door. Nothing needs declaring, but nothing may show.

Confirmed Confirmed from official site (bath page carries the dated notice)

Best for: Two named baths at Sengokuhara, if your tattoo covers completely

Baths are 百華の湯 and 黒金の湯, with open-air sections. Operated by Nihon House Hotel & Resort, which uses identical wording at Hotel Shikinoyakata Hakone Ashinoko — this is a group policy rather than one hotel’s decision. Merged 2026-09-02 with a duplicate entry of the same property; the earlier record described the policy as: "Cover seal required — fully covered tattoos accepted (trial policy since Jul 1, 2024)"
