Laforet Hakone Gora Yunosumika
ラフォーレ箱根強羅 湯の棲
Does Laforet Hakone Gora Yunosumika allow tattoos? Yes, covered
Tattoos are allowed in the shared baths under two cover seals of 8 cm × 10 cm (3.1 × 3.9 in) each. Anything larger means booking the Ayakan wing, where every room has its own open-air bath.
The rule is on the hotel's own bath page, and tattoos are otherwise refused.

タトゥー(入れ墨)を入れている方のご入浴はお断りしています。ただし、カバーシール(8cm×10cm)2枚でタトゥーを隠していただける場合のみご入浴可能です。
The operator’s own wording, to show at the desk if you need to.
The bath
The water is sulfur water from Owakudani, the fuming volcanic ground of Hakone. Each side has a large indoor bath, an open-air bath set in a Japanese garden and a sauna; the sides don’t swap. The baths are open 6 to 10 a.m. and noon to midnight, from 3 p.m. on Thursdays, the sauna noon to 11 p.m. The Ayakan wing, opened in January 2024, has an open-air bath on the Owakudani spring in every room, 40 m² premier rooms with a terrace onto the Gora woods; four of them are dog-friendly and can be booked only by guests bringing a small dog.
The hotel
A hotel formerly called Laforet Gora, finished in warm wood, with a sunken-hearth living room where you take your shoes off. The main dining room is Shunsaigura. Ayakan guests can instead have dinner and breakfast in their room, cooked from Numazu fish and vegetables grown on Hakone's western slopes. Check-in is 3 p.m. and checkout is 11 a.m.

How we know
Confirmed from official site (bath page states the size)
Best for: a small tattoo that two standard seals hide, or dog owners who want an Ayakan room with its own bath
Communal onsen baths with an open-air section, on men's and women's sides. The 8 cm × 10 cm (3.1 × 3.9 in) figure is the size of one seal and the hotel allows two, so read it as two separate coverable areas rather than a single 8 cm × 20 cm (3.1 × 7.9 in) strip. The hotel's own bath page describes communal baths only; no private bath rooms are listed.
