Does Ashiwada Hotel allow tattoos? In a private bath

Private bath only

Ashiwada Hotel puts a red-wine bath in its large bath, made for it by a local liquor shop from powdered grape seeds and skins, and its one private bath looks away from the lake toward the mountains.

Ashiwada Hotel publishes no tattoo rule. It has one private bath, for staying guests only, 45 minutes for 3,300 yen between 15:00 and 22:00. Book on the hotel’s own site and the first turn is free; with a single private bath, times go in order of request.

How we know

Confirmed from official site, bath structure, not a tattoo policy (the hotel’s bath page)

Best for: An inexpensive private bath at a quiet lakeside hotel

One private bath, 15:00–22:00, 45 minutes, 3,300 yen, staying guests only; the hotel says its window looks away from the lake toward the mountains, and that the tub is not large. Bookings on the official site get one free use. The large baths are natural hot spring water with water added and heated, with a sleeping bath, a sauna and a red-wine bath; renovated in 2017.
