Izumi no Yu, Saiko
いずみの湯
Does Izumi no Yu, Saiko allow tattoos? Yes!
A small lakeside bathhouse on Saiko that set aside three hours of every afternoon, 14:00 to 17:00, for tattooed bathers, and wrote a page explaining the choice to everyone else who uses it.
Uncovered from 14:00 to 17:00 on every day it opens. Izumi no Yu calls those three hours its Tattoo Friendly Time: no extra charge and no booking. Outside them, tattooed bathers are asked to stay out unless a cover seal hides the tattoo, and in that case any hour is fine and the bathhouse sets no size limit. It says it plans to sell seals at the counter but has not started.

Admission 900 yen on weekdays and 1,200 yen at weekends, holidays and set peak periods (children 4 to elementary school 500 / 600 yen, 3 and under free). Opening days and hours change with the season; the site sends you to its calendar and, while that is being built, to the phone. The page also asks tattooed bathers to be mindful around children and asks other bathers to go to staff rather than confront anyone. Run by HAMAYOU Resort, which also runs a hotel and a campground on the same lake.
