Does Iwayu allow tattoos? In a private bath
Take-no-yado is a sixty-year-old house standing apart from the main inn, let to one party a night, with a garden bath nobody else walks past.
Iwayu has no published tattoo rule, which leaves its shared bath unanswered. The detached house, Take-no-yado, sidesteps that: a sixty-year-old building let to one party a day, with a garden open-air bath of its own. The inn says it keeps staff out of that space as far as it can, and for that reason serves dinner in a private room in the main building rather than in the detached house.

JR Sanyo-San’in Area Pass Seven days on JR West trains across both coasts for 23,000 yen, with reserved seats on the Sanyo Shinkansen between Shin-Osaka and Hakata and on the Yakumo limited express from Okayama to Matsue. It covers the Super Matsukaze from Matsue to Kurayoshi. The Hinomaru bus from Kurayoshi to Misasa, 340 yen, is paid separately. Sold on Klook.

Only one party a night can have the detached house, so it goes early on weekends. Meals are the main event at this inn, which sells itself on seasonal Tottori produce rather than on the scale of its bathing.
