Mansuirou keeps a single deep hinoki tub for one group at a time, sealed tighter than the shared bath so the radon-laden steam stays in the room.

Mansuirou publishes no tattoo rule anywhere on its site, so its shared baths stay an open question. The reservable bath is not: a large hinoki tub on the inn’s own 100 percent source water, 50 minutes for ¥3,300, taken by one group at a time. Above it sit two suites, 530 and 430, each with a private open-air tub on the same water, and a barrier-free suite with an open-air deck tub for anyone using a wheelchair.

Matsue is the door, 2 h 35 from Okayama on the Yakumo limited express. Tamatsukuri is one stop west. Kaike is a bus from Yonago and Misasa a bus from Kurayoshi, both east along the San’in line, and Yunotsu is two hours west by way of Izumoshi.. JR Sanyo-San’in Area Pass Seven days on JR West trains across both coasts for 23,000 yen, with reserved seats on the Sanyo Shinkansen between Shin-Osaka and Hakata and on the Yakumo limited express from Okayama to Matsue. The inn notes that the source water in the private tubs is heated and diluted before it reaches the tub. The barrier-free suite is stepless throughout and takes a wheelchair from the door to the open-air deck. Mansuirou is a radium-spring house, so it sells the steam as much as the soak.
