Does Iwaso allow tattoos? In a private bath
The cottages sit along the Momijidani stream inside the national park, close enough to the deer path that the open-air bath at the main house sometimes has an audience.
Iwaso publishes no tattoo rule at all: 45 pages of its own site carry no mention of one, in either language. That silence is not permission for the two large baths. What can be booked instead is a cottage with its own bath. Of the four detached buildings, Shusenkei and Senshintei each have an indoor tub, and the inn says the Senshintei bath looks straight out into the valley.

Visit Hiroshima Tourist Pass One, two or three days on Hiroshima’s streetcars, including the line out to Miyajimaguchi, and the ferry across to the island. Slower than the JR train, and it covers the boat. Sold on Klook.

Best for: A prewar wooden cottage with a bath in it, beside the Momijidani stream
The detached rooms date from the Taisho and early Showa years and are single-story, one building per party. Two of the four, Kinputei and one other, are listed as 風呂なし (no bath), so the room type matters: ask for Shusenkei (built 1928) or Senshintei. The inn does not say whether the cottage tubs run on its spring; the Wakamiya spring it does describe is a 18.6°C radon water that has to be heated. The two large baths, Hinode-yu and Tsuki-no-yu, take 30 people each and run 15:00 to 24:00 and 06:00 to 09:30.
