Does Miyajima Hotel Makoto allow tattoos? In a private bath
Reserve the private bath, Koume, and nothing needs covering. It’s free for 40 minutes at 5, 8 or 10 p.m., for three groups a night.
Makoto publishes no tattoo rule anywhere on its site, so don’t take the silence as permission for the two large baths.
The bath
Koume is an indoor tub with a sauna, for up to three people. It’s free for 40 minutes at 5, 8 or 10 p.m., one use per group. The hotel takes three groups a night, in the order they book.
The hotel doesn’t call its water a hot spring.
The two large baths, Shiraume for men and Kobai for women, are indoors. They’re open 4 p.m. to midnight and 6 to 9 a.m.
The hotel
Rooms of types A and B and the special room have a bath of their own. The five type C rooms have none. On nights when a school group stays, the baths keep student-only hours, and the hotel posts those dates on its site.

Miyajimaguchi STN · JR Sanyo line, then the JR ferry
About 350 meters from Miyajima pier.
From Hiroshima, it's 27 minutes on the local train to Miyajimaguchi, a six-minute walk to the pier, then ten minutes on the ferry.
