Does Nozawa Grand Hotel allow tattoos? In a private bath
The private outdoor bath is named for the hundred Kannon statues on Tsutsujiyama, the azalea hill it faces, and it is open only between the thaw and the first of November.
No tattoo rule is published. There are two private ways to bathe: rooms with their own open-air bath on the Ogama spring, usable in any season, and the Hyakuban Kannon couples’ bath, a private open-air bath booked at check-in and closed from 1 November to mid-April.

Private open-air bath (百番観音夫婦風呂): 2,000 yen per room for 50 minutes, booked at check-in, 13:00–21:00 and 07:00–10:00. The onsen page gives the closure as 1 November to mid-April, depending on snow; the facilities page says it operates May to November. The room open-air baths, the private bath and the indoor view bath draw from the Takenoshi-gama vent of Ogama; the shared view open-air baths use the Shin-yu source. The hotel’s room page shows its room types as images, so the number of rooms with an open-air bath was not read. 29 rooms, all with bath and toilet. Outdoor pool in summer only.
