Does Candeo Hotels Nankai Wakayama allow tattoos? Yes, midnight to 4 a.m.
A rooftop open-air bath at the top of the Nankai Wakayama tower, with a wide indoor tub, a dry sauna for men and a mist sauna for women, and a midnight window for tattooed guests.
Hotel guests with tattoos may use the sky spa uncovered from midnight to 4 a.m., a window the hotel sets aside for them. At other hours cover seals are available at the desk. Day-spa visitors with tattoos are refused.
The bath
The chain’s first infinity spa, built around the Kinokawa river: the men’s open-air tub runs out to an edge over the river mouth, the women’s looks over a glass parapet to the hills, and the indoor tub stretches across tall glass down the river. For men, a dry sauna and a cold bath; for women, a mist sauna only. The spa runs 3 p.m. to 11 a.m., with half-hour cleaning breaks at 9:30 p.m. and 4 a.m. and the saunas off 2 to 6 a.m., which shapes the tattoo window of midnight to 4 a.m. Day tickets, for visitors without tattoos, are ¥1,600 in the evening or ¥1,200 in the morning, more on weekends, towels included. Hotel guests need their room towels.

Rooms are 18 m² queens and 20 m² kings and twins, some on corners, and the bathrooms are the prefabricated unit type. The hotel sits in the Kino Wakayama building on top of Wakayamashi station.
