Does Candeo Hotels Osaka Namba allow tattoos? Yes!
A rooftop open-air bath in the middle of the city, sold on the night view and the stars; a wide indoor tub and a men’s dry sauna; the Candeo group took a special award in Saunachelin 2020.
No restrictions. No covering and no declaration.
The bath
The sky spa is on the roof, built with an open well so the bath is open to the air above. The hotel’s photos show a long, narrow open-air tub lined in blue tile along a glass wall, with small lanterns set on a gravel border. Both sides have film on the glass to block views from outside, so the lower panes are frosted and the lit towers of Minami show above them. Indoors, a long tiled tub sits under a wood-slat ceiling between stone walls, and the showers are partitioned booths.
The two sides aren’t equipped alike. Men have a dry sauna kept hot enough for a heavy sweat, with a cold plunge beside it. Women have a mist sauna, which fills the room with fine vapor at a gentler heat, and nothing cold to follow it. After bathing there is a lounge with sofas facing the night view.
Hours run from 3 p.m. until 11 a.m. the following day. The saunas go off at 2 a.m. and come back at 6 a.m., and staff clean from 3:30 a.m. to 4 a.m. Only staying guests may use the spa, and you bring your towels down from the room.
The hotel
Rooms are compact, 16 to 20 m² with Simmons beds and a unit bath, in queen, twin and king layouts, some marketed for their city view. The one exception is The Candeo Luxury Suite, 42 m² including its own 8 m² open-air bath, with an 8 m² terrace on top. The hotel is an associate hotel of Universal Studios Japan and has its own paid parking at ¥3,200 a night.
Good to know
- No cold bath on the women’s side, and a mist sauna in place of the men’s dry sauna.

Nippombashi STN · Sakaisuji and Sennichimae subway lines, Kintetsu Namba line
About 5 minutes.
Nagahoribashi is also about 5 minutes, and Namba and JR Namba about 10. Shin-Osaka is about 25 minutes, and Kansai Airport about 40.
