Does Mitsui Garden Hotel Osaka Premier allow tattoos? Yes!
The group’s Osaka bath, on Nakanoshima, the island in the river between Umeda and the business district, with the policy the group applies to all 24 of its bath hotels across three brands.
Nothing to cover. The bath page says the hotel has lifted its restriction on body art and tattoos, part of the Mitsui Garden change of March 1, 2026.
The bath
The spa takes the sixteenth and top floor, one bath for men and one for women, and the water is an artificial carbonated spring (jinko tansansen) rather than water from the ground. The hotel’s own photos show a long rectangular indoor tub edged in granite, facing a floor-to-ceiling glass wall. On the other side of the glass is a wooden deck with round pot baths fed by stone spouts, white gravel, a small tree and a planted green wall, all enclosed by stone-tiled walls with the sky open above. The hotel describes it as a bath where you look out at greenery, not the river or the skyline.
Free to hotel guests only, and open through the night from 3 p.m. to 9 a.m. Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, dryers and skin lotions are set out (the women’s side adds makeup remover and face wash), but there are no towels, so bring them from your room. The door is locked and opens with your card key, and you can go up in the room nightwear and slippers. The hotel warns it gets very crowded at some hours.
The hotel
All rooms have wooden floors where you take your shoes off, and the bath, toilet and washbasin are in separate spaces. Floors 13 to 15 are the Premier Floors, with their own lounge that pours free beer, wine and highballs from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Breakfast is a Japanese-Western buffet run by the Kyushu restaurant Hakataro, ¥2,970 for adults. The hotel is due to be renamed Mitsui Garden Hotel Osaka Nakanoshima Premier on February 26, 2027.

Higobashi STN · Yotsubashi subway line
About 5 minutes from exit 2.
Watanabebashi on the Keihan Nakanoshima line is 3 minutes from its exit 2. A free hotel shuttle runs from the Sakurabashi exit of JR Osaka, about 15 minutes; it has 23 seats, first come.
