The bath
A natural hot spring from Kada Awashima Onsen on the coast at Kada, a mild, skin-softening spring, cool at the source and known as a beauty bath; the hotel is open that the water is heated, diluted, filtered and circulated. A long indoor tub in gray stone tile beside a window onto a small planted garden of rocks, maples and a bamboo fence, with no sauna and no outdoor bath. Bathing hours are 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. and 5 to 10 a.m., with separate baths for men and women; women borrow a key from reception. ReFa shower heads and dryers inside, and room TVs show how busy the bath is.
The hotel
Opened in June 2024, with 232 rooms. Guests check in from 3 p.m. and leave by 10 a.m. The buffet breakfast at Restaurant Nagomi (6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.) is free if you book on the Route Inn site and ¥1,800 otherwise. From Monday to Saturday evenings the same room serves rice bowls, noodles and izakaya (a Japanese pub) plates, and an hour of unlimited drinks costs ¥1,000.

The Hanwa line reaches Wakayama from Osaka in 1 hour 21 minutes. By car, Wakayama IC is about 9 minutes.
