Does Cyashitsu Ryokan Asakusa allow tattoos? In a private bath
The only bath is a rooftop cypress tub you have to yourself for 45 minutes, included with every room. It's plain hot water, not a spring.
A private rooftop bath, 45 minutes for every room. The top floor has an open-air hinoki bath with a view of the Skytree, closed in by planting rather than walls, and every guest gets a private slot in it whichever of the ten rooms they book. The ryokan publishes no tattoo policy, and with no shared bath there's nothing for one to apply to.
The bath
One bath, on the roof, and it's never shared: a hinoki tub open to the sky, hedged with plants instead of walls, with the Skytree standing over the neighborhood to the east. Every booking includes a 45-minute private slot, so a night here means a bath here, whichever room you took. Plain hot water rather than a spring.
The hotel
Ten rooms in the quieter streets north of Senso-ji, built around the idea of a tea room: small, plain, precise, with the electronics kept out so nothing hums. Breakfast is the staff's own: sun-dried unsprayed rice, a miso soup full of vegetables, three small dishes. Four minutes to the Tsukuba Express station and about ten to the Ginza line.

Ten rooms, some as small as 11 m² and built on the proportions of a tea room, so read the room sizes before you book. Not spring water. The sister restaurant, Chashitsu Nigo near Kaminarimon, serves sukiyaki and shabu-shabu in private rooms.
