Private bath in the room. The Deluxe Japanese-Western rooms have their own open-air bath, and no rule can reach you there. The top-floor communal bath — Ome Ayumi no Yu, an alkaline spring at pH 9.9 looking over the Tama river — publishes no tattoo rule either way, on the hotel’s own pages or the group’s, so we record it as unconfirmed rather than as permission.
The bath
The spring is the hotel’s own, Ome Ayumi no Yu, and unusually alkaline at pH 9.9 — the kind of water that leaves skin feeling slippery, which the hotel makes its selling point. The communal bath is on the top floor with a view down the Tama valley to the Okutama hills.
The room to book is the Deluxe Japanese-Western with open-air bath: your own tub on a terrace, with the same water and the same view, and nobody else’s rules.
The hotel
Out at the western edge of Tokyo, ten minutes by bus from Ome STN on the JR Ome line — about an hour and a quarter from Shinjuku — with a free shuttle timed to the trains. Thirteen room types after the 2025 renovation, from family rooms to dog-friendly rooms with their own sauna, and a garden barbecue in summer.
