The standard Route Inn grade, 147 rooms, four minutes from the west exit of Keikyu Kamata STN and six from the east exit of JR Kamata. Check-in 15:00, check-out 10:00. Every room has a humidifying air purifier, free Wi-Fi and WOWOW; the comfort rooms on the upper floors add free films on the in-room Route Inn Theater.
Breakfast is free: a buffet at the restaurant Nagomi with croissants and a mocha danish baked in-house and a daily European bread.

Getting there
Keikyu Kamata is where the Keikyu airport line leaves the main line for Haneda, which is what makes a plain business hotel in Kamata worth a page here. Shinagawa is up the same line the other way; JR Kamata, six minutes from the door, is on the Keihin-Tohoku.

Route Inn sets this once for the whole group — Route Inn, Grand, Ark and Grand Vrio alike — and states it plainly: tattooed guests may not bathe unless the tattoo is completely covered with a cover seal. The seal it sells at every front desk is 11.4×20 cm, the largest allowance of any hotel chain on this site, and no maximum number is published. The chain adds the limit itself: a tattoo too extensive to cover is refused, so a forearm piece passes and a sleeve does not.
Because it is a chain rule, every Route Inn with a daiyokujo works the same way, which makes the chain the reliable budget option in a city where policy otherwise changes at every door. The seal is bought at the desk, so buy it at check-in.
What happens when you arrive
Cover the tattoo completely before you go in, with a seal that fits the size the property allows — that figure is in the policy line at the top of this page, and it is the property’s, not ours. Where the seals are sold at the front desk, buy them at check-in rather than at bath time; where they are not, bring your own.
